Brick by brick...

Life, huh…

I usually pick a word of the day each and every day, and today it is just that.

Life…

Life is a beautiful thing, but it is also a scary thing as well. 

One day, you feel on top of the world and feel as though nothing can defeat you and that you can conquer tremendous feats. 

And the next day you could feel the complete opposite; atrocious…

Life is a tricky thing, and no matter who you may ask about it, they will probably end up telling you the same thing that I just did.

It is beautiful, but it is also tricky and unnerving sometimes. 

Trials and tribulations… We all go through them, but we all find a way to overcome them at some point. 

That is life right there…

The beauty being the accomplishment and satisfaction of finding your way out of odd and/or difficult situations, and the unnerving being the fact that you must go through those trials and tribulations in the first place.

People have told me in the past before; “Life is not a game. This shit is serious!” 

I don’t dispute the fact that life is a very serious concept, because it is. 

However, I do think it is a game that you have to play.

And no, it is nothing like playing Call of Duty or Grand Theft Auto, but nonetheless, you must continue to move forward, play your cards right every day and never allow yourself to give up. 

I know people that have beaten some of the best and hardest video games out there, but you know what…

They couldn’t have beaten the game had they played their cards the wrong way… Or had they decided to give up and quit… 

Life is a game and it is not an easy one to play, and that goes for all of us who were given the blessing of life itself. 

So this is a game that we must all play and do our best doing so. 

One of my favorite quotes of all time is this…

Now if you search up the definition of this quote, it was originally quoted by and is attributed to Emperor Hadrian, who was, as you may have guessed it, a former Roman Emperor way back when there were 3 digit years. 

Man, he’s old! 

I love this quote because it can be used as an expression of life. 

None of us will achieve or attain everything it is that we want tomorrow. It doesn’t happen just like that. 

However, if we set out to achieve or attain these things, then we must take it one day at a time, because that is exactly what it takes.

Time… 

Day by day… Or, you could say brick by brick… 

“Rome wasn’t built in a day, you know?”

Well, no shit. 

It was built one day at a time, and that is exactly what it took; time. 

Creating an entire city is a lengthy process, and to do so you must chip away at it day by day. 

Or, brick by brick…

This is life.
